2009 Davey's Bay Cup
18 boats lined up for the start comprising 10 Flying 15's, 4 Laser 4.7's, 3 Pacers and 1 Musto Skiff. The course at the start was 215 degrees and was pretty true for 3 of the 5 works. The Musto Skiff was first at the weather mark followed by Surprise, Fast Forward, WOW! then Handsome & Modest followed by Fee Fi Fo Fum. On the run the Musto took a swim and the fifteens passed by, Surprise took the lead followed by Fast Forward and WOW!, on the wind Surprise consolidated her lead while WOW! got past Fast Forward. On the fourth work a massive windshift occurred going round to 130 degrees before swinging between 130 & 190 degrees, Sally Radnell let a good lead in the Lasers get whitled awayby Sam Danks & Freddie Brown, but she managed to keep ahead of Freddie. Sam II stalled on the finish line which cost her the cup.
