WHO & WHERE WE ARE

Davey's Bay Yacht Club provides yacht racing for the following types of boat:

* International Flying Fifteen
* International Fireball
* Sabot
* Optimist
* Minnow
* International Laser 4.7
* Pacer

The club is located off Davey's Bay Road, Mt. Eliza, Victoria, Australia and is accessed by a short walk along the cliff top. It faces north and the city of Melbourne can be seen on the opposite side of Port Philip Bay. Sailing is on PortPhilipBay and the prevailing wind is S-SE. Even on days of very light winds, a sea breeze normally pops up late in the afternoon allowing us to complete a race. Racing is held on Sunday afternoons and the start time for the first race is 1400 hours.

• Training and Coaching in all aspects of sailing is held on Sunday mornings - our training programme is called Tackers please go to the Tab above for more details.

• We host the Lidgett Trophy in February each year, which is the biggest training regatta in Victoria and is specifically for children under 16.
  
  

• The club has a very active social programme and is a true "family" club. The club is a byo for food and drink, allowing self catering. BBQ facilities are also available.
  
  

• New members are welcome (in fact encouraged), they can either bring their own yacht, or crew on a member's yacht. The club owns several dinghies that juniors can use free of charge.
  
  

• Membership fees are quite modest compared to many sporting clubs and details can be found on the membership application form.
